About the Confidential Reporting Hub

The Confidential Reporting Hub is operated by Benard + Associates, an independent and neutral firm engaged by Canadian regulators to confidentially receive and manage reports about misconduct and ethical concerns.

The Hub gives staff, contractors, committee members, and council or board members a safe way to raise serious concerns within their regulator, including harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, misuse of organizational property, and other unethical behaviour.

Our intake team receives the information and prepares a memo to share it with your organization. If you report by email, we may reply with questions so we fully understand your concern, while you remain anonymous.

We are a neutral third party with no stake in any outcome associated with your concerns. Our role is limited to understanding your concerns and communicating them to the appropriate person or people within your organization. We also offer guidance to your organization on how to address your concerns ethically and bring about a resolution.

Frequently asked questions

Who can use the Confidential Reporting Hub?

The Hub is available to staff, contractors, committee members, and council or board members of Canadian regulators that use this service.

What type of information should I include?

We encourage you to share all the information you feel comfortable sharing, with as much detail as possible. The detail helps with any subsequent investigation. If you report by email, you can also attach photos or other documents for our intake team to review.

What happens to the information I provide?

The information you share will be reviewed and considered so that a decision can be made on how to proceed. Your organization will receive the information along with our analysis and options for how best to resolve your concerns.

If you report by email, we may reply with questions so we can understand the issues while you remain safe and anonymous. This allows us to give your organization the best options, so the issues you raise are addressed ethically and responsibly.

How is my identity protected?

The Confidential Reporting Hub is designed to protect your identity. We do not use caller ID on the report line, and we have no way to identify you unless you tell us who you are. Your name is only passed along to your organization if you choose to give it to us.

How do I report by phone?

Call 1-833-737-7848, toll free from anywhere in Canada, and leave a voicemail. There is no live receptionist, but the line is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Because we do not use caller ID, your number is not captured. If you are concerned your voice could be recognized, you may wish to have someone else leave the message for you.

How do I report by email?

Send your report to report@reportithub.com. We recommend creating a new email account, for example with Gmail or Outlook, that does not include your name. This ensures the email cannot be traced back to you.

Can I follow up or add information after I report?

Yes. If you reported by email, reply from the same email address so your messages stay connected. If you left a voicemail, you can call again or send an email and mention that you reported a concern before. If you share a few details from your original report, we will be able to match your communications to that matter.

Ready to raise a concern?Call or email at any time. You do not need to give your name.
